Primrose Bank provides 24 hour residential care, without nursing to those over 65. Also provided are excellent quality home cooked meals and fantastic social activities in a relaxed, home from home setting. Long term placements and also short term placements are available including respite care and post hospital recovery.


Residents are assessed to ensure we can meet their care needs, following this a comprehensive care plan is put in place to ensure these needs are met. This means every aspect of your stay with us is personally tailored to your needs and wishes. Primrose Bank is committed to a person centred approach, we always make sure we get to know each resident and find out who they are rather than see them as a list of needs and solutions. Residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible, and all decisions will be respected, Primrose Bank is your home and you are encouraged to live your life as you would have done if you were still living unsupported. Every Resident is seen as an individual.

We do not given unsafe care or treatment, where risk of harm could be avoided

Safeguarding from Abuse
While receiving care or treatment you must not suffer from abuse or improper treatment, this includes neglect, degrading treatment, unnecessary disproportionate restraint or inappropriate limits on your freedom

Food and drink
We make sure you have enough to eat and drink to keep you in good health while you receive care

Premises and equipment
The equipment used in the home is secure and used properly, clean, suitable and looked after properly.

Everyone is entitled to make a complaint
Primrose bank have a system in place which handles and respond to your complaint effectively. We will thoroughly investigate and take action if problems are identified

Good governance
We have systems in place to check on the quality and safety of care, in order to improve and reduce risks to your health, safety and welfare

Duty of Candour
We will be open and transparent about your care and treatment

We display our CQC results in the lobby, they can also be found on the CQC website.


Primrose Bank has 45 single bedrooms, 25 of which are ensuite, all tastefully decorated. Rooms come with a TV and telephone point and vanity facilities. Every room offers the security of a  24 hour nurse call system in case assistance is needed. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with photographs, pictures, ornaments and small pieces of furniture to create a familiar environment, a home from home.

Residents are free to use any of the 4 lounges or Dining Room at any time.


Meal times are often the highlight of the day and Primrose Bank prides itself on creating tasty, nutritional meals, made from good quality, locally sourced food. The Dining Room is a social meeting point and residents enjoy social interaction with fellow residents during meal times.

The dedicated kitchen team provide Breakfast, a two course lunch and a light dinner daily, with mid morning, and suppertime snacks and drinks always available.

The home runs a four weekly menus, which provide a good variation of meals, examples of which are available to download below. The menus are changed every season to allow us to use the best seasonal ingredients. The menus are made with resident’s participation and we always value the input of residents, relatives and staff. Alternatives are always available. We can cater to specialist requirements.

You are free to continue to use your preferred provider you used prior to coming to the home, and we are happy to help arrange transport if needed, should you choose to do so.
