The Residents and staff at Primrose Bank had a fantastic day last Thursday at the annual Primrose Bank Christmas Party. We were entertained by singer Derek Duncan, and enjoyed a Christmas quiz, games of Pin the Nose on Rudolph and a lovely Christmas Buffet and mince pies!

Confused about care?
Going into a care home yourself, or helping a family member or friend get the care they need can be a confusing and emotional time for all parties. At Primrose Bank we will always do our best to make things as simple as possible and always offer advice when asked.
The internet can be a great source of information, but can sometime create more questions than answers, with often an overwhelming amount of information.
We have put together some websites we hope will help!
Council Websites
Depending where you live on the Fylde Coast, the two councils are Blackpool Borough Council and Lancashire County Council. The council is often the best place to start when needing community care assessments and help with funding

The Care Quality Commision (CQC)
The CQC is the public body which inspects hospitals, care homes and other care providers to ensure they are meeting national standards. They inspect all care homes at least annually and all inspections can be found on their website.

Other good websites for information
Paying for Care is a not for profit company which offers advice in funding all aspects of care and understanding the costs involved. The website is simple and easy to use.
Age UK are the UK’s largest charity for old people. They provide a free advice service, helping you to understand the different types of care homes, the fees and where is best for you.
