Last Friday, Primrose Cruise Lines set sail for Rome! Bringing all the sights, sounds and flavours of Italy to our residents.
The day started with cappuccino coffees and an Italian for beginners lesson, Bonjourno! The home was decorated with flags, bunting and our very own Michelangelo’s David.
This was followed by VR Headset tours of St Peters Basilica, the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum.
For lunch residents, visitors and staff enjoyed Antipasti followed by Spaghetti Bolognese, Pasta Carbonara, Roasted Italian potatoes and Garlic Breads. For desert we enjoyed traditional homemade tiramisu. Lunch ended with a big sing along to Dean Martins That’s Amoré!
We then enjoyed The Italian Job on the big screen and pasta making in the afternoon. Tea was minestrone soup and homemade pizzas with Italian gelato supplied by Notrainis Ice Cream Parlour for desert.
The day ended with wine tasting and watching Pavarotti live in Modena.
A great day was had by everyone, look out for where our world cruise takes us next!

The extension of the dining room is part of a larger extension to the entire home. We are adding 20 new en suite rooms, taking the home to 45 bedrooms. We have just finished work on a new bathroom with luxury assisted bathing system. Our car park has also been extended and all our gardens landscaped and paved with level access throughout the home. All our new rooms will be completed by mid November, and we are now taking names for them, some of which can be chosen of plan and customised with your choice of colour scheme. Residents, relatives and members of the care team at Primrose Bank held a fun-filled party to enjoy the summer, and to celebrate the 70th anniversary of VE Day. Cake and refreshments were served with music from the fantastic Land Girls, who got everyone flag waving and singing along to some classic songs. Everyone went to lots of effort with their outfits and fancy dress, all matching the theme perfectly. Followed up by a raffle and tombola, then a buffet tea, residents, staff and families had a great day.
Going into a care home yourself, or helping a family member or friend get the care they need can be a confusing and emotional time for all parties. At Primrose Bank we will always do our best to make things as simple as possible and always offer advice when asked.
The internet can be a great source of information, but can sometime create more questions than answers, with often an overwhelming amount of information.
We have put together some websites we hope will help!
Depending where you live on the Fylde Coast, the two councils are Blackpool Borough Council and Lancashire County Council. The council is often the best place to start when needing community care assessments and help with funding
